Hartland International School proudly celebrates its Year 9 pupils who won the prestigious F1 in Schools sustainability award. The team—Karthika Ajay, Gautam Nambiar, Wayne D’Souza, Daren Tan, and Elizaveta Soboleva—designed a scaled-down, efficient F1 car with an emphasis on sustainability. They incorporated environmentally conscious practices such as using uniforms made from recycled plastic and planting ghaf trees, native to the UAE.
Their victory is a reflection of Hartland’s commitment to promoting environmental responsibility. The team hopes their initiative will inspire others to adopt sustainable practices, from carpooling to reducing plastic use, emphasising that every action counts towards a healthier planet.
“We believe that progress can go hand in hand with sustainability,” said Karthika. “Our project focused on making a lasting impact on the community.”
This success showcases the school’s dedication to fostering creativity, teamwork, and a deep sense of responsibility towards global challenges. By leading through action, Hartland’s students are helping shape a more sustainable future.
